I. THE FACT OF SIN
A. The Bible teaches us that we are All sinners from Birth and we inherit this nature from Adam & Eve.
Psalm 51:5 "Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me."
B. The Bible tells us that there is no such thing as a good person. Even the nicest person you know in God's eyes is a sinner. Because of our sinful state, we do not even realize that we are that bad and that our hearts are wicked.
(Psalm 14:2-3; Ecclesiastes 7:20; Jeremiah 17:9-10)
Psalm 14:2-3 "The LORD looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand,
who seek God. They have all turned aside, they have together become corrupt; There is none who does good, No, not one."
Ecclesiastes 7:20 "For there is not a just man on earth who does good And does not sin."
Jeremiah 17:9-10 "The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? I, the LORD,
search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings."
C. Some people might say, "OK, so I'm a Sinner, but I'm not as bad as some others". I've never really been too bad
and I even go to Church/Synagogue, and I try to help people. This type of reasoning is a result of our deceitful
heart trying to justify ourselves. God says in His word, the Bible, that covering ourselves up with our good
deeds is actually like covering ourselves with filthy rags! [Isa. 64:6] This is like a person who needs a bath and
stinks but rather than taking a bath, puts on a new suit or dress and expects no one to notice the smell!
Isaiah 64:6-7 "But we are all like an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a
leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away. And there is no one who calls on Your name, Who
stirs himself up to take hold of You; For You have hidden Your face from us, And have consumed us because of
our iniquities."
II. THE RESULT OF SIN
A. Again, because of our Sin we have a deceitful heart [Jeremiah 17:9] (read verse above)
B. Our Sin now causes a separation between us and God, like a Wall. Until the Sin is taken care of, the
communication is broken between God and man.
Isaiah 59:1-2 "Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; Nor His ear heavy, That it cannot hear.
But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He
will not hear."
C. The next result of Sin is that we will die!.
Ezekiel 18:44 "Behold, all souls are Mine; The soul of the father As well as the soul of the son is Mine; The soul who
sins shall die."
D. The last result is we will be cast into Hell (The Lake of Fire).
Isaiah 66:24 "And they shall go forth and look Upon the corpses of the men Who have transgressed against Me. For
their worm does not die, And their fire is not quenched. They shall be an abhorrence to all flesh."
Daniel 12:22 "And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to
shame and everlasting contempt."
Revelation 20:14-15 "Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire."
Psalm 11:6 "Upon the wicked He will rain coals; Fire and brimstone and a burning wind Shall be the portion of their
cup."
III. GOD'S PROVISION FOR SINNERS
A. If God left us in this state of being Sinful and Separated from Him, with a Deceitful Heart, Destined for Hell
what a hopeless situation it would be.
B. God has a plan to give us a new heart, not like our old deceitful Heart.
Ezekiel 36:26 "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of
your flesh and give you a heart of flesh."
C. Everyone needs to be born all over again, not physically, but Spiritually. We must be Born Again!
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot
see the kingdom of God."
How can I get this New Heart and be Born Again?
"Can I get it because of my Parents decision to raise me in their Religion?. No!
John 1:12-13 "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those
who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man,
but of God."
"Can I get it because of my Good Deeds? No!
Titus 3:5-6 "not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us,
through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us
abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior."
Eph 2:9-10 "not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus
for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them."
"Can I get it by trying to keep the Law? No! The Ten Commandments? No! (Isaiah 64:6; Galatians 3:10-14)
Gal 3:10-14 "For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, "Cursed is
everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them." But that
no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for "the just shall live by faith." Yet the law is
not of faith, but "the man who does them shall live by them." Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the
law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"), that the
blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the
Spirit through faith."
"Can I get it by trying to do it my own way? No!
Isaiah 53:6 "All we like sheep have gone astray ;We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the
LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
Proverbs 16:25 "There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death."
We must Repent, Confess, and Receive Jesus. He is God's provision for Sin!
1. Because of our sinful state, God took matters into His own hands, and sent His Son to die on the
Tree (Cross) in our place. Jesus paid our penalty for us so that we do not have to spend Eternity in Hell
and be separated from God.
2. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him
should not perish but have everlasting life."
Leviticus 17:11 "For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make
atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul."
3. But only those who Receive Jesus, are promised Heaven and a new Heart and forgiveness of Sin.
Jesus is the only way into Heaven
John 1:12-13 "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those
who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man,
but of God."
John 14:5-6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except
through Me."
Acts 4:12 "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men
by which we must be saved."
How can I Receive Jesus?
We must understand that we are sinners.
Ps 14: 1-3
The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God. "They are corrupt ,They have done abominable works, There is none who does good. 2 The LORD looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand, who seek God. 3 They have all turned aside, They have together become corrupt; There is none who does good, No, not one.
We must understand that as a result of your sin Jesus died for you personally, and that He was buried, rose again on the 3rd day after His death.
1 Cor 15:3-4
3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,
After understanding this you must Confess, Repent and Profess. Call on God to forgive you, and invite Jesus to come into your Life and be Lord of it. [Acts 4: 12; ]
Rom 10: 8-13
8 But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith which we preach):
9 that if you confess with your mouth the LORD Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11. For the Scripture says, "whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.
12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same LORD over all is rich to all who call upon Him.
13 For "whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved."
Jesus says that He stands at the Door to your Heart and knocks. If you hear Him, ask Him to forgive you and come into your Life.
He will.
Revelation 3: 20-21 - 20 "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me."
When you do you will be born again. You will receive the Holy Spirit and cross over from death to Life.
John 5:24
24 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.
2 Cor 5: 17
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
God has given us the Bible so we might know how to have Eternal Life.
1 John 5: 11-13
11 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has life;
he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God
Acts 16:31
31 So they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household."
Psalm 2: 12 "Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way, When His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.
